Adverb Clause
যে Clause Sentence-এ Verb-কে modify করে অর্থাৎ Adverb-এর কার্য সম্পন্ন করে তাকে Adverb Clause বলে। মাঝে মাঝে এটি Adjective ও Adverb-কেও Modify করে ।
PC. Das বলেন, “Adverbial Clause বাক্যে Adverb এর মতো Verb, Adjective বা অন্য কোন Adverb কে modify করে এবং সময়(Time), স্থান(Place), কারণ(cause and reason), ফল(effect or result), পরিমাণ(extent), ধরণ(manner), তুলনা(comparison), বৈপরীত্য(contrast), শর্ত(condition) বা উদ্দেশ্য(purpose) বোঝায়।”

Note
As- কখনো reason-কারণ হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়। আবার Contrast বা বৈপরীত্য হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Reason বা কারণ: As weather was rough, we could not reach timely.
কিন্তু, As যখন Contrast অর্থ দেয়, তখন ভিন্ন একটি Structure এ ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Adjective + as+ subject + verb, Independent Clause.
Example: Brilliant as he is, he is unemployed.
Poor as she is, she donated one thousand taka.

Noun এরপর That clause কখন Noun Clause এবং কখন Adjective clause.
The news that he has died is false.
Noun এরপর that clause noun clause হয় ৪টি শর্তে:
১. NOun ছাড়া যদি That clause টি পরিপূর্ণ অর্থ প্রকাশ করে
২. That clause এ যদি intransitive verb থাকে।
৩. That clause এ যদি linking verb থাকে।
৪. That Clause এ যদি transitive verb object সহ থাকে।
The fact that Karim is a good boy is known to me.
The fact that Nanno is a good cricketer is known to all.
The news that you heard yesterday is known to all.
একটি মাত্র কারণেই NOun এর পর That Clause Adjective clause হয়, তা হলো That clause এর কোন object থাকবে না।
The news that he gave me was false.
