Complex to Simple
2. Subject এরপরRelative Pronoun যুক্তcomplex Sentence এ মূল Verb থাকলে সেই complex Sentence কে Simple করার নিয়ম:
প্রদত্ত Sentence টির Subject বসে + Relative Pronoun (who, which, that) উঠে যায় + পরে যে মূল Verb থাকে সে মূল Verb এর Present Form এর সাথে ing যোগ করতে হয় + বাকি অংশ বসে|
Complex: The man who takes bribe is next to devil.(J.B- 2017)
Simple: The man taking bribe is next to devil.
Complex: Students who wish to acquire proficiency in a language should practice the language.
Simple: Students wishing to acquire proficiency in a language should practice the language.
Complex to Simple-SSC-HSC
3.Relative pronoun + be verb + adjective/ adj+ noun থাকলে: Relative pronoun এবং Be verb উঠে যায় + the + adj./ adj+ Noun.
Complex: She helped those who were helpless. (D.B-2017)
Simple: She helped the poor.
4. Subject এরপর Relative Pronoun যুক্ত complex Sentence এ Auxiliary Verb এরপর মূল Verb + ing (Present Participle) থাকলে সেই complex Sentenceকে Simple করার নিয়ম:
প্রদত্ত Sentence টির Subject বসে+ Relative Pronoun (who, which, that) এবং Auxiliary Verb উঠে যায়+ বাকি অংশ বসে।
Complex: The man who is working in the field is very diligent/industrious.
Simple: The man working in the field is very diligent/ industrious.
5. Subject এরপর Relative Pronounযুক্ত complex SentenceএAuxiliary Verb এরপর মূল Verb এর Past Participle থাকলে সেই complex Sentence কে Simple করার নিয়ম:
প্রদত্ত SentenceটিরSubject বসে + Relative Pronoun (who, which, that) এবংAuxiliary Verb উঠে যায় + বাকি অংশ বসে|
কখনো কখনোRelative Pronoun + Past Participle- Objectএরপর বসে। তখন নিচের নিয়মটি প্রয়োগ করতে হবে।
Relative Pronoun এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত + Relative Pronoun (who, which, that) এবং Auxiliary Verb উঠে যায় + বাকি অংশ বসে|
Complex: Suddenly they saw a bear which was coming towards them. (R.B-2016)
Simple: Suddenly they saw a bear coming towards them.

6. Subject এরপর Relative Pronoun এরপর Adjective যুক্ত complex Sentence থাকলে নিচের নিয়মে simple করতে হয়:
প্রথমে Article বসে + Relative Pronoun এর পরের Adjectiveটি বসে+ প্রদত্ত subject বসে + প্রদত্ত Sentence এর adjective এর পরের অংশ বসে।
Complex: The people who are poor cannot afford to take a balanced diet. (C.B- 2015)
Simple: The poor people cannot afford to take a balanced diet.
7.Since/as/when যুক্তComplex Sentence –এরদুটি Clause এর Subject এক হলে এবং দুটি Clause এর মূল verb থাকলে প্রদত্ত নিয়মটির সাহয্যে Simple করতে হয়।
প্রথমSentence এর মূল Verb এর সাথে ing যোগ করতে হয় + প্রথমClause এর ক্রিয়ার পরের অংশ + Comma (,) বসে+ দ্বিতীয় Clause এর Subject এর জায়গায় প্রথম Sentenc এর Subject বসে + দ্বিতীয় Sentence& এর বাকি অংশ বসে।
Complex: When we read good books, we discover new worlds. (D.B- 2016)
Simple: Reading good books, we discover new world.
Complex: When he gets the question papers, he should read it carefully. (J.B-2017)
Simple: Getting the question papers, he should read it carefully.
Complex to Simple-SSC-HSC
8. Since/as/whenযুক্তComplex Sentence –এর দুুটClause এর Subject ভিন্ন হলে এবং প্রথম Clause এ am/is/are/was/were/have/has/had থাকলে নিচের নিয়মে Simple করতে হয়:
প্রথম Clause এর am/is/are/was/wereএর পরিবর্তে being অথবা have/has/had এর পরিবর্তে having বসে (তাছাড়া প্রথম clause এ কোন পরিবর্তন হয় না) + দ্বিতীয় clauseটি বসে।
Complex: Since the weather was very cold, there were no birds or animals in the snow covered country.
Simple: The weather being very cold, there were no birds or animals in the snow covered country.
Complex: when the office was over, we went back home.
Simple: The office being over, we went back home.
কিন্তু, Since/as/whenযুক্তComplex Sentence –এর দুটিClause এর Subject ভিন্ন হলে এবং প্রথম Clause এ main verb থাকলে নিচের নিয়মে Simple করতে হবে: After + Sub. এর Possessive + main verb এর সাথ ing (তাছাড়া প্রথম clause এ কোন পরিবর্তন হয় না) + দ্বিতীয় clause টি বসে।
Complex: As he request me, I gave him my book.
Simple: After his requesting me, I gave him my book.
9. Since/as যুক্ত Complex Sentence এর দুটিClause এরSubject এক হলে এবং Since/ as যুক্ত Clause টিতে শুধু be verb (am/is/are/was/were/has/have/had)থাকলে নিচের নিয়মে Simple করতে হয়:
Since/as এর পরিবর্তেপ্রথমে Because of বসে+ সে Clause এর Sub র Possessive form বসে+am/is/are/ was/ were এর পরিবর্তে Being বসে বা has/ have/ had এর পরিবর্তে© having বসে+ সে Sentence এর বাকি অংশ বসে + Comma (,) বসে+বাকি Sentence টি বসে।
Complex: As the demand of flowers is increasing day by day, we should cultivate flower on commercial basis. (R.B-2015)
Simple: Because of increasing the demand of flowers day by day, we should cultivate flower on commercial basis.
Complex: As our Parliament House is highly complex structure, its annual maintenance cost is about 50 million Taka
Simple: Because of being a highly complex structure, its maintenance cost is about 50 million Taka.

10. When যুক্ত সময় নিরে্দশক Complex Sentence কেSimple করার নিয়ম:
When Clause ছোট সময়/দিন-তারিখ/বয়স/ঋতু উল্লেক থাকলে নিচের নিয়মের সাহয্যে simple করতে হয়।
(1) When উঠে যায়+ When পরে যে subject (it) ও Verb উঠে যায়/ (2) ছোট সময় থাকলে at /in বসে / ঋতু থাকলে তার পূর্বে in বসে/ দিন তারিখ বুঝালে On বসে এবং বয়স উল্লেখ তার তার পূর্বে At the age of বসে।
Complex: When he was eight years old, his mother died. (R.B-2016)
Simple: At the age of eight, his mother died.
Complex: When he was a boy, he desired to be an Englishman. (Din.B-2015)
Simple: At his childhood, he desired to be an Englishman.
Complex: With great effort they married their two daughters when they reached teenage.
Simple: With great effort they married their two daughters at their teenage.
Complex: When it was day light, I was half awakened by the sound of chopping.
Simple: At day light, I was half awakened by the sound of chopping.
Complex: When it is spring, the cuckoo sings
Simple: in spring, the cuckoo sings.
Complex: When Jerry was four, he left his village.
Simple: At the age of four, he left his village.

11. তবে When দ্বারা কোন সময় না বুঝিয়ে কোন কাজ চলছে বুঝালে তখন At the time of/During/ while + ব্যক্তিবাচক object থাকলে তার Possessive form + When যুক্ত অংশের ing যুক্ত Verbটি + বাকি Clause টি বসে।
Complex: When I reached there, my friend received be cordially. (R.B-2017)
Simple: My friend received me cordially, at the time of my reaching there.
Complex: One night when he was saying his prayer, a thief broke into his room. (J.B-2015)
Simple: One night at the time of his saying prayer, a thief broke into his room.
N.B: While কোন কাজ চলছে বুঝালে তখন At the time of/ during + ব্যক্তিবাচক object থাকলে Possessive form + When যুক্ত অংশের ingযুক্ত Verb টি+ বাকি Clause টি
Complex: That night, while Ruplal was sleeping, he heard a noise. (Syl.B-2016)
Simple: That night At the time of/ during his sleeping that night, he heard a noise.
Complex to Simple-SSC-HSC
12. If দ্বারা গঠিত শর্তমূলক না-বোধক (Negative) Complex Sentence কে Simple করার নিয়ম:
প্রথমে without বসে + if Clause এর মূল Verb এর Present Form এর সাথে ing যোগ করতে হবে + এরপর কোন পরিবর্তন নাই।
Complex: If you do not work hard, you will not prosper in life.
Simple: Without working hard, you will not prosper in life.
Note: If clause দ্বারা Affirmative (হ্যাবোধক) অর্থ বুঝালে শুধু without এর পরিবর্তে© by বসে। আর সবকিছূ ঠিক থাকবে।
Complex: If we watch television, you can learn many things. (D.B-2015)
Simple: By watching television, you can learn many things.
Complex: If we read good books, we can enrich our mind. (Syl.B-2017)
Simple: By reading good books, we can enrich our mind.
Simple: If a student fails in exam, he suffers from inferiority complex. (Syl.B-2017)
Complex: By failing in exam, he suffers from inferiority.
13. So that যুক্ত Complex Sentenceকে Simple Sentence এ পরিনত করার নিয়ম:
প্রদত্তSentenceএর প্রথম থেকে So that এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত বসে Ñ So thatথেকেMay/might/can/could পর্যন্ত উঠে যায় + in order to/ to বসে+ প্রদত্ত Sentenceএর বাকি অংশ বসে।
Complex: We must work hard so that we can earn money. (Ctg. B-2017)
Simple: We must work hard in order to/ to earn money.
Complex: So a student should be aware of studying regularly and attentively so that he can do well in the examination. (Syl.B-2015)
Simple: : So a student should be aware of studying regularly and attentively in order to / to do well in the examination.
Complex to Simple-SSC-HSC
14. So —- thatযুক্ত Complex Sentence কেSimple করার নিয়ম:
প্রদত্ত Sentence এর Subject ও Verb বসে + So এর পরিবর্তে too বসে + that এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত বসে+ that থেকে Not পর্যন্ত উঠে যায় + to বসে + প্রদত্ত Sentence এর বাকি অংশ বসে।
Complex: The roast looked so delicious that he could not resist his temptation.
Simple: The roast looked too delicious to resist his temptation.
15. Complex Sentence এunless থাকলে:
Unless এর পরিবর্তে without বসিয়ে Unless যুক্ত Clause এর মূল Verb এর সাথে ing যোগ করে Simple করতে হয়।
Complex: No one can receive any reward unless he works hard. (Ctg. B-2016)
Simple: No one can receive any reward without working hard.
16. Simple Sentence গঠিত হয় Clause নিয়ে| কিন্তু, Complex Sentence গঠিত হয় একাধিক clause নিয়ে। একটি Principal Clause এবং আরেকটি Subordinate Clause তাই Complex Sentenceকে simple করার সময় Complex Sentence এর Subordinate noun/adjective/adverb clause কে Word বা Phrase এ পরিনত করতে হয়।
Complex: We hope that Bangladesh will be free from this evil. (J.B-2016)
Simple: We hope Bangladesh to be free from this evil.
Complex: It is Dhaka city which has not yet suffered any severe earthquake.(B.B-2016)
Simple: Dhaka city has not yet suffered any severe earthquake.
