লক্ষ্য করুন এই লাইনটিতে ২টি বাক্যাংশ রয়েছে। এবং গ্যাপ (a) এরপর সরাসরি আরেকটি Verb বসানো হয়েছে। যার Subject হিসেবে কাজ করছে প্রথম বাক্যাংশের এর Subject – I.
অর্থ্যাৎ এখানে দুটি বাক্যাংশ এর Subject হিসেবে কাজ করছে I (আই) এধরণের বাক্যে Connector হিসেবে and বসে।
তাই গ্যাপ (a) তে Connector হিসেবে and বসবে।
তাহলে লাইনটি দাঁড়াবে- I am 13 years old (a) and live on the street alone.

তাই ‘কারণ’ অর্থে গ্যাপ (b) তে Connector হিসেবে Because হবে।

ব্যাখ্যা: এই লাইনে বলা হচ্ছে- (d) _____ , my mother is separated from my father.= আমার মা আমার বাবার কাছ থেকে আলাদা থাকে।
বাবা-মার Separation একটি বাচ্ছার জন্য খুবই দু:খজনক। তাই গ্যাপ (d) তে Connector হিসেবে ‘দু:খজনক’ অর্থে Unfortunately হবে।
তখন পুরো লাইনটি হবে- (d) Unfortunately , my mother is separated from my father.

ব্যাখ্যা: এই লাইনে বলা হচ্ছে – Probably= সম্ভবত ; she is happy with him= মা তার সাথে সুখি। এখানে আমেরিগো বলছে, তার মা নতুন স্বামীর সাথে সম্ভবত সুখি।
এই লাইনটিতে কোন গ্যাপ নাই। চলে যাবো পরের লাইনে।

ব্যাখ্যা: এখানে বলা হচ্ছে- I begged him আমি তাকে অনুরোধ করেছিলাম; to send to me some money = আমাকে কিছু টাকা পাঠাতে; (i) _______ I could buy= যেন আমি কিনতে পারি; a bus ticket= একটি বাস টিকেট।
গ্যাপ (i) যেন/যাতে অর্থে Connector হিসেবে so that বসবে।
