HSC Completing Sentence এর Solution আমরা ব্যাখ্যাসহ আলোচনা করেছি। এই ব্যাখ্যাসহ Solution গুলো নিয়মিত চর্চা করলে, আপনি খুব সহজেই পরীক্ষায় সঠিকভাবে প্রশ্নের উত্তর করতে পারবেন। আমাদের সাইটে HSC সকল প্রশ্নের ব্যাখ্যাসহ সমাধান পাবেন।
Completing the following sentences with clauses/phrases:
(a) Sabbir Khan is a quack. He behaves as though—–
(b) A proverb goes that-
(c) I found a box in the room. The box was too heavy for —-
(d) Corruption is an obscene to our national development. It is high time —-
(e) It is love that —–
(a) Sabbir Khan is a quack. He behaves as though—-
ব্যাখ্যা: এই sentence টি as though যুক্ত। as if ও as though এর আগের বাক্যটি যদি Present Indefinite Tense হয়, তবে পরের বাক্যটি Past Indefinite Tense হবে।
এই বাক্যে as if এর আগের বাক্যটা Present Indefinite Tense হয়েছে তাই as if এর পরের বাক্যটি Past Indefinite Tense এ করতে হবে ।

অতএব এখানে এমন একটি যুক্তিসঙ্গত clause যুক্ত করতে হবে, যা হবে Past indefinite. যদি পরের অংশে be verb ব্যবহার করতে হয়, তবে were ব্যবহার করতে হবে। Sentence টি আমরা এইভাবে করতে পারি-He behaves as though he were an expert. (Answer)
আবার, as if ও as though এর আগের বাক্যটি যদি Past Indefinite Tense হয়, তবে পরের বাক্যটি Past Perfect Tense হবে।
যেমনঃ He talked as though he (know) everything.
(b) A proverb goes that-
ব্যাখ্যা: এই Question টিতে বলা হচেছ A proverb goes that- এর অর্থ ’একটি প্রবাদ আছে’। এখানে আমরা যেকোন Proverb (প্রবাদ) ব্যবহার করতে পারবো। যেমন look before you leap
Answer: (b) A proverb goes that look before you leap.
(c) I found a box in the room. The box was too heavy for —-
ব্যাখ্যা: Too…. to (এতই….. যে)। Too…. to যুক্ত sentence এ দুটি ব্যক্তিবাচক/ সমজাতীয় subject থাকলে।
Structure 1: Subject + verb + too + adjective → to + V1 + object/ext.
Example:
He is too weak to walk. (তিনি হাঁটতে খুব দুর্বল।)
আবার, Too … to যুক্ত 1st Sentence টি বস্তূবাচক বা দুটি ভিন্ন subject থাকলে।
Structure 2: Subject + verb+ too+ adjective→ for ব্যাক্তি বাচক subject এর objective form+ to+ V1+ obj/ext.
Example: The box was too heavy for me to carry.
Answer: (c) I found a box in the room. The box was too heavy for me to carry.
(d) Corruption is an obscene to our national development. It is high time —-
ব্যাখ্যা: যদি It is time এরপর subject না থাকে, তবে to+ verb এর base form + ( other word)
অর্থ্যাৎ It is time + (for+ noun/pronoun) to+ verb এর base form + ( other word)
আমাদের প্রশ্নে প্রদত্ত Sentence টিতে It is high time এরপর Subject নাই । সুতরাং এই প্রশ্নে উত্তর হবে নিন্মরূপ।
Answer: It is high time to fight against corruption.

More Example:
যেমন:
Incomplete: It is time …….
Complete: It is time to start the work.
Incomplete: It is time for you …….
Complete: It is time for you to work hard.
But,
It is time/It is high time এর পরে যদি Subject থাকে, তবে উক্ত Subject এর পরের Verb এর past form + ext. হয় ।
আর এই Structure টি কোন কাজ করার উপযুক্ত সময় পার হয়ে গেছে, এরূপ অর্থে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
যেমন:
Incomplete: It is high time we—-
Complete: It is high time we stopped polluting our water.
Incomplete: It is time we—-
Complete: It is time we met the chairman.
(e) It is love that —–
ব্যাখ্যা: এটি একটি Relative Pronoun যুক্ত sentence. Relative Pronoun -that এর পূর্বে রয়েছে এর Antecedent- love. অতএব মূল Verb দিয়ে শুরু হওয়া যুক্তিসঙ্গত একটি clause দিয়ে বাক্যটি complete করতে হবে। এখানে আমরা ব্যবহার করতে পারি keeps us alive.
অতএব Answer: (e) It is love that keeps us alive.
