The liberation war of Bangladesh inspired many artists, singers and cultural activists. Eminent artiste Shaheen Samad (a)—- (join) Bangladesh Mukti Sangrami Shilpi Sangstha during the liberation war. She along with others (b) —- (inspire) millions with her voice (c)—-(raise) funds for the refugee camps. The cultural troupe used to (d)—- (travel) to refugee camps and different areas in Mukta Anchal.

ব্যাখ্যা: এই লাইনটিতে দুটি গ্যাপ আছে। গ্যাপ (b) ও গ্যাপ (c)। গ্যাপ (b) তেও ১৯৭১ সালের তথা অতীত কালে ঘটনা, তাই মূল Verb এর Past Form হবে। Answer (b) inspired

গ্যাপ (c) তে দেখেন আরো একটি Verb আছে। ডিয়ার লার্নারস, একটি Sentence এ দুটি Verb থাকলে, ২য় Verb এর সাথে ing যোগ করতে হয় অথবা Verb এর Past Participle করতে হয় অথবা উদ্দেশ্যে বুঝালে To + Verb বসাতে হয়। ডিয়ার লার্নারস, প্রদত্ত Sentence এর Subject যদি ২য় Verb এর কাজটিও নিজেই সম্পন্ন করে, তবে ২য় Verb এর সাথে ing যোগ করতে হবে। আর যদি প্রদত্ত Sentence এর Subject ২য় Verb এর কাজটি নিজে সম্পন্ন না করে, তবে ২য় Verb এর Past participle করতে হবে। উদ্দেশ্যে বুঝালে To + Verb বসাতে হয়। তিনটি Example দিলে বিষয়টি পরিষ্কার হয়ে যাবে।

      Arham has made ‍a good result working hard.

     She has given me a ring made of gold.

   I work hard to make a good result.
যেহেতু, এই Sentence টিতে উদ্দেশ্য বুঝাচ্ছে তাই To + Verb বসাতে হবে।  Answer (c ) to raise

ব্যাখ্যা: এখানে গ্যাপ (d) এর আগে আছে used to যা একটি Modal Verb. Dear Learners, Modal Verb এর পর Verb এর মূল Form বসে। অন্য Modal Verb গুলো হচ্ছে Can, could, may, might, will, would, shall, should, must, need, dare, ought to, used to, had better, had rather, would better, would rather etc. অতএব Answer (d) travel

ব্যাখ্যা: এই Sentence টিতেও দুটি গ্যাপ আছে। অতীতের ঘটনা হওয়ায় গ্যাপ (e) এর Verb টিরও Past Form হবে। Answer (e) performed

গ্যাপ (f) এর আগে আছে besides যা এখানে Prepositon হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে। আর Preposition এরপর Verb এর সাথে ing যোগ করতে হয়। Prepositon হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হলে যার অর্থ in addition to /as well as/ পাশাপাশি বা ছাড়াও। যেমন: Besides being a fantastic footballer, Arham is also good at cricket ‍and tennis.

Besides receiving a salary increase, Mr Arham also got shares in the business.

 অন্যদিকে Besides যদি adverb হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়, তখন এর অর্থ in any case/ anyway.  Answer (f) staging.

    6.    Shaheen Samad said, “Liberation war always (g) —– (be) an inspiration for me.”

ব্যাখ্যা: এই   Sentence টিতে দেখেন Direct Speech রয়েছে। Quotation Marks এর ভিতরের অংশে গ্যাপ (g) এর আগে আছে always. তাই এই বাক্যটি Present Indefinite Tense এ হবে। অতএব এই Sentence টি Subject- Liberation War যেহেতু Third person Singular number, তাই গ্যাপে Be verb হিসেবে is ব্যবহৃত হবে। Answer (g) is.

ব্যাখ্যা: সাধারণত বাক্যের মধ্যে now, at this moment, at present থাকলে present Continuous Tense করতে হয়। কিন্তু এখানে ব্রাকেটে আছে feel, যা একটি non-continuous verb. তাই এই অংশে Present Indefinite Tense হবে। আর এখানে Subject- She যেহেতু Third Person Singular Number, তাই feel- Verb এর সাথে s যোগ করতে হবে। অতএব Answer (h) feels.  অনান্যা non-continuous verb গুলো হচ্ছে: know (জানা), believe (বিশ্বাস করা),  hear  (শোনা), see (দেখা), smell (বিশেষ ঘ্রাণ থাকা), wish (আশা করা), understand (বুঝা), hate (ঘৃনা করা), love (ভালবাসা), like (পছন্দ করা), want (চাওয়া), sound (শব্দ করা), have (থাকা/আছে), need (প্রয়োজন হওয়া), appear (মনে হওয়া), seem (মনে হওয়া), taste (বিশেষ স্বাদ থাকা), own (অধিকারী হওয়া) etc.

ব্যাখ্যা:  এই বাক্যটিতেও দুটি Verb আছে। এখানে wants হচ্ছে এই Sentence টির মূল Verb, যাকে Grammar এর ভাষায় বলা হয় Finite Verb। আর cover হচ্ছে ২য় Verb। যাকে Grammar এর ভাষায় বলা হয় Non-finite Verb। এখানে Cover অর্থ কিন্তু ঢেকে দেয়া না। গানের ক্ষেত্রে cover মানে হচ্ছে নতুন করে Record করা।  এই বাক্যটিতে উদ্দেশ্য বুঝাচ্ছে, তাই গ্যাপ (j) তে to + Verb হবে। Answer (j) to cover.
