Student life is the best time for (a) — (prepare) ourselves for future. It is (b) —- (call) the seed time of life. So during this period of life students mustn’t (c) —- (waste) time. The main pursuit of the students (d) —- (be) study. They should prepare themselves for the life (e) —- (lie) ahead. They should also (f) —- (participate) in co-curricular activities. By (g) —– (read) newspaper they will know what (h) —- (happen) in the world. When the country (i) —- (face) with a natural calamity, they should (j) —- (come) forward with a view to (k) —– (remove) the sufferings of the affected people. Even in normal times they (l)—- (engage) themselves in acts of social service. The students can not do well in the examination without (m) —- (work) hard. ব্যাখ্যা: লাইনটির বাংলা অর্থ- ‘ ভবিষ্যতের জন্য আমাদের নিজেদেরকে প্রস্তুত করার সর্বোৎকৃষ্ট সময় হলো ছাত্রজীবন’।
এখানে দেখেন, গ্যাপ (a) এর পূর্বে আছে for. এই for একটি Preposition. আর Preposition এরপর verb এর সাথে ing যোগ করতে হয়। অতএব এখানে prepare এর সাথে Ing যোগ করে preparing করতে হবে।

ব্যাখ্যা: বাংলা- ‘ইহাকে (ছাত্রজীবনকে) জীবনের বীজ বপনের সময় বলা হয়’।
It দ্বারা ছাত্রজীবন কে বোঝানো হইছে। লক্ষ্য করুন, ছাত্রজীবনকে বলা হয়। অর্থ্যাৎ ছাত্রজীবন নিজে বলে না। অতএব এখানে It- subject নিজে কাজ করছে না। তাই এই Sentence টি Passive Voice এর Sentence.
এই Sentence টিতে Subject- It এবং is – Auxiliary Verb আছে। অতএব গ্যাপে Verb এর Past Participle হবে। Call এর Past Participle – Called হবে।

ব্যাখ্যা: বাংলা অর্থ- ‘তাই ছাত্রজীবনের এই সময়ে ছাত্র-ছাত্রীরা সময় নষ্ট করবে না’।
গ্যাপ (c) এর আগে আছে Mustn’t যা একটি Modal Auxiliary . অন্যান্য Model Auxiliary হচ্ছে- Shall, should, can, could, may, might, ought, ought to, used to, need, will, would, must.
Modal Auxiliary এরপর Verb এর Present form ব্যবহৃত হয়। অতএব এখানে Waste এর কোন পরিবর্তন হবে না।

ব্যাখ্যা: লাইনটির বাংলা অর্থ- ‘ছাত্রছাত্রীদের প্রধান কাজ হলো পড়াশুনা করা’। বাংলা অর্থ দেখে বলা যায় এটি Present Indefinite Tense এর Sentence.
এবং আপাতদৃষ্টে মনে হবে এখানে Subject হলো students. কিন্তু না। Subject হবে The main pursuit . যা Singular number. Present Indefinite Tense এ Subject third Person singular Number হলে be verb হিসেবে is বসে।

ব্যাখ্যা: বাংলা অর্থ ‘ তাদের (ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের) উচিত সামনের দিনগুলোর জন্য নিজেদের প্রস্তুত করা’। এই Sentence টিতে দুটি Verb আছে । একটি Prepare অন্যটি lie. একটি Simple Sentence এ দুটি Verb থাকলে ২য় Verb এরসাথে ing যোগ করতে হয়। lie এর সাথে ing যোগ করলে lying হয়।

ব্যাখ্যা: বাংলা অর্থ- ‘তাদের উচিত সহশিক্ষা কার্যক্রমেও অংশগ্রহণ করা’। এই Sentence টিতেও Modal Auxiliary আছে। এখানে Modal Auxiliary হচ্ছে Should.
আর Modal Auxiliary এরপর সবসময় Verb এর Basic Form বা মূল Verb হয়। অর্থ্যাৎ এখানে ব্র্যাকেটের Verb – participate এর কোন পরিবর্তন হয় না।
নঅন্যান্য Modal Auxiliary হচ্ছে Shall, should, can, could, may, might, ought, ought to, used to, need, will, would, must.
অতএব এখানে Answer (f) participate

7. By (g) —– (read) newspaper they will know what (h) —- (happen) in the world.
ব্যাখ্যা: বাংলা অর্থ- ‘ সংবাদপত্র পড়ার মাধ্যেমে তারা (ছাত্র-ছাত্রীরা) বিশ্বে যা ঘটছে , তা জানতে পারবে’।
গ্যাপ (g) এর আগে আছে By যা একটি preposition. আর Preposition এরপর Verb এর সাথে ing যোগ হয়। অতএব গ্যাপ (g) এর Answer হবে reading.

এই Sentence টির গ্যাপ (h) টা একটু লক্ষ করুন। বলা হচ্ছে what (h) —- (happen) in the world. যার অর্থ – ‘বিশ্বে যা ঘটছে’ । এটি Present continuous Tense হবে। এবং what হচ্ছে singular.

ব্যাখ্যা: বাংলা অর্থ- ‘যখন দেশ প্রকৃতিক দুর্যোগের মুখমুখি হয়, তখন তাদের (ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের) উচিত আক্রান্ত লোকজনের ভোগান্তি কমাতে এগিয়ে আসা’। এই লাইনটিতে ৩টি গ্যাপ আছে।
বাংলা অর্থ দেখে আমরা বোঝতে পারছি Sentence টি present indefinite tense হবে। কেননা দেশ প্রকৃতিক দুর্যোগে পড়লে ছাত্র-ছাত্রিরা এগিয়ে আসবে- এটি স্বাভাবিক বিষয়।
গ্যাপ (i) তে subject হচ্ছে country যা 3rd person singular , তাই face এর সাথে s যোগ করে faces করতে হবে।

গ্যাপ (j) এর আগে Should আছে। যা একটি Modal Auxiliary . আর Modal Auxiliary এরপর সবসময় Verb এর মূল form হয়। অতএব এই গ্যাপে come এর কোন পরিবর্তন হবে না।
অন্যান্য Model Auxiliary হচ্ছে- Shall, should, can, could, may, might, ought, ought to, used to, need, will, would, must.

গ্যাপ (k) এর আগে আছে with a view to . Right form of verb এর নিয়ম অনুযায়ী with a view to এরপর verb এর সাথে ing যোগ করতে হবে।
এরূপ আরো Phrase হচ্ছে: get used to, without, cannot help, past, could not help, with a view toward, look forward to, would you mind.

ব্যাখ্যা: বাংলা অর্থ- ‘এমন কি স্বাভাবিক সময়ে তাদের (ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের) উচিত সমাজ সেবমূলক কাজে নিজেদেরকে নিয়োজিত করা’।
এখানে বাংলা অর্থ থেকে বলতে পারি ‘উচিত’ অর্থে মূল Verb- engage এর পূর্বে should ব্যবহৃত হবে এর মূল Verb- engage এর কোন পরিবর্তন হবে না। সুতরাং

বাংলা অর্থ: ‘ছাত্র-ছাত্রীরা কঠোর পরিশ্রম ছাড়া পরীক্ষায় ভালো করতে পারে না’।
এখানে দেখুন গ্যাপ (m) এর আগে আছে without যা একটি preposition . আমরা জানি Preposition এরপর verb এর সাথে ing যোগ হয়। এখানে উত্তর হবে work-verb এরসাথে ing যোগ।

ব্যাখ্যা: বাংলা অর্থ – ‘এটি অত্যন্ত দুঃখের বিষয় যে অনেক ছাত্র-ছাত্রীরা চেষ্টা করে সবচেয়ে সংক্ষিপ্ত ও সহজ উপায়ে সফল হতে’। এখানে গ্যাপ (n) এর পূর্বে আছে to যা infinitive হসেবে কাজ করছে। আমরা জানি infinitive এরপর verb এর basic form হয়। অর্থ্যাৎ মূল Verb এর কোন পরিবর্তন হয় না।
