16 November, Rupganj: Distribution of Smart National Identity Card (NID) started in Rupganj Upazila today. Distribution programme was inaugurated by Golam Dastogir Gazi MP, honorable minister for Ministry for Textiles and Jute, at Murapara Govt. College. Smart NID Distribution Begins in Rupganj

As smart cards are machine readable, smart cards have additional safety measures against forgery. “Smart cards are playing an important role to decrease militancy, terrorism and forgery.” said Golam Dastogir Gazi, MP from constituency Narayanganj-1 (Rupganj).

The Minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib, is working to ensure highest facilities for country people.
He also added that smart cards are evidence of being developed nation by 2041. “Distributing smart cards within short time is an outstanding success of Awami League led government. We are proud of being citizen of Bangladesh,” said Golam Dastogir Gazi.
Smart NID Distribution Begins in Rupganj
The inauguration programme was also addressed by Jasim Uddin, Deputy Commissioner of Narayanganj.
Among others, Mamataz Begum, UNO of Rupganj Upazila, Hasina Gazi, Mayor of Tarabo Municipality, Sayeda Ferdusi Alom Nila, vice Chairman of Rupganj Upazila were presented the programme.
