ব্যাখ্যা: so that অর্থ যেন/ যাতে। So that যুক্ত Sentence এর প্রথম অংশ Past Tense হলে so that এর পরের অংশ Subject + would/ could + মূল verb দিয়ে করতে হয়।
এখানে যেহেতু বলা হয়েছে They did it so that –, তাই এরপর আগের বাক্যের সাথে মিলিয়ে সঙ্গতিপূর্ণ Phrase দিয়ে বাক্যটি Complete করতে হবে।
বাক্যটির বাংলা অর্থ ‘১৯৭১ সালে শহিদেরা তাঁদের জীবন উৎসর্গ করেছিলেন। তাঁরা এটি করেছিলেন যেন —’।

3rd Conditional এ ২য় অংশে subject + would + have + verb এর Past Participle হলে প্রথম অংশে If + subject + had + verb এর Past Participle হবে। বাংলা অর্থ দেখুন ‘অনেক দেরি হয়ে গেছে। —– আমরা ট্রেনটি মিস করতাম না’।
অর্থ্যাৎ আমাদের অনেক দেরি হয়ে গেছে। আমরা যদি আরো আগে রেল স্টেশনে রওনা করতাম, তাহলে ট্রেনটি মিস করতাম না। অতএব 3rd Conditional এর নিয়ম অনুযায়ী If we had started for station earlier, we would not have missed the train.

ব্যাখ্যা: এই Sentence হলো too + adjective + for (someone) to যুক্ত একটি Sentence.
Too heavy to lift যুক্ত Sentence এর বাংলা অর্থ হয় এতই ভারি যে তুলতে পারি না।
Too difficult for me to recite যুক্ত Sentence এর বাংলা অর্থ হলো ‘এটা আমার জন্য এতো কঠিন যে আমি আবৃত্তি করতে পারি না’।
অর্থ্যাৎ এই Sentence টি to যুক্ত phrase ব্যবহার কর complete করতে হবে।

প্রবাদ বাক্যটি হলো Danger comes where danger is feared.

as though এবং as if যুক্ত sentence এর প্রথম অংশ Past Tense হলে পরের অংশ Past perfect tense হয়।
এখানে as if এরপর past tense – spoke ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে। সুতরাং as if এরপর past perfect tense হবে।
বাংলা অর্থ ‘সে এমনভাবে কথ বলে যেন সে —- । আসলে সে একজন হাতুড়ে ডাক্তার’।

ব্যাখ্যা: এখানে Incomplete বাক্যটিতে lest আছে। lest যুক্ত বাক্যের বাংলা অর্থ দাঁড়ায় ‘পাছে যদি কিছু হয়ে যায়। যেমন পাছে যদি ট্রেন মিস হয়ে যায় অথবা পাছে যদি গ্রেফতার হয়ে যায়’।
lest যুক্ত Incomplete বাক্যকে Complete করতে lest এরপর should/might + verb এর মূল form বসাতে হয়। লক্ষ্য করুন প্রশ্নে উল্লেখিত বাক্যটিতে lest এরপর verb এর past participle আছে। এখানে যেহেতু
Verb এর Past Participle – arrested আছে, তাই lest এরপর might + get বসাতে হবে। কেননা get এরপর Verb এর Past Participle হয়।

বাংলা অর্থ ‘চোরটি পুলিশকে ভয় পায়। সে দৌড় পালিয়ে ছিলো পাছে যদি সে গ্রফতার হয়ে যায়’।

Despite (সত্বেও) ব্যবহৃত হয় বৈপরীত্য বোঝানোর জন্য। পরের বাক্যে বলা হচ্ছে he helps his relatives. সে তাঁর আত্মীয়দের সাহায্য করে। তাই Despite এরপর এমন একটি শব্দগুচ্ছ / phrase ব্যবহার করতে হবে যেন পরের বক্যের সাথে বৈপরীত্য বোঝায়। আমরা যদি বলি ‘গরিব হওয়া সত্ত্বেও সে তাঁর আত্মীয়দের সাহায্য করে’। তাহলে কিন্তু Sentence টি Correctly Complete হয়ে যায়।

এই Sentence টিতে দুটি Subject এর কথা উল্লেখ করা আছে, Logic এবং History. পরের লাইনিতে বলা হচ্ছে, ‘History তার কাছে কঠিন মনে হয়,? অর্থ্যাৎ সে History subject এর পরিবর্তে logic নিয়েছিলো। এখানে গ্যাপে ‘পরিবর্তে’ বোঝাতে instead of/ in lieu of ব্যবহৃত হবে।

ব্যাখ্যা: It is time / It is high time এর পরে infinitive phrase কিংবা past indefinite tense-এর clause উভয়ই ব্যবহার করা যায়। তবে কোনো কাজ করার সঠিক সময় হয়েছে বোঝাতে infinitive phrase বসে এবং কোনো কাজ করার সঠিক সময় ইতোমধ্যে পার হয়ে গেছে তাই বিলম্ব না করে এ মুহূর্তেই কাজটি শুরু করা উচিত বোঝানোর জন্য past indefinite tense-এর clause ব্যবহার করতে হয়। উল্লেখ্য যে, এ ধরনের sentence দ্বারা present tense-এর অর্থ প্রকাশ পায়। It is time এর পরিবর্তে It is high time ব্যবহার করলে বেশি জোর / গুরুত্ব বোঝায়। It is time / It is high time এর structure ও উদাহরণ নিচে দেওয়া হলো।
a) It is time / It is high time + (for + object)+ to + verb-এর base form + অন্যান্য
b) It is time / It is high time + sub2 + verb-এর past form + অন্যান্য
