অপশন (a) হচ্ছে Wood . Wood হচ্ছে একটি Uncountable Nonu যার অর্থ কাঠ। এই শব্দটি সাধারণত Plural হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয় না।কিন্তু, Wood শব্দটির সাথে যদি s যোগ করে Plural করা হয়, তাহলে এর অর্থই পরিবর্তন হয়ে যায়। তখন এর অর্থ দাড়ায় ‘বন-জঙ্গল’। সুতরাং এই অপশনটি আমরা আমাদের উত্তর হিসেবে নিতে পারছি না।

অপশন (b) হচ্ছে Issue। Issue হচ্ছে এমন একটি Noun, যা Singular হিসেবে দুটি অর্থ দিয়ে থাকে। যেমন- (১) সন্তান; (২) ফলাফল। কিন্তু এর সাথে যখন S যোগ করে Plural করা হয়, তখন Issue একটি অর্থে ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন- ফলাফল সমুহ। সুতরাং আমরা Issue কেও আমাদের কাঙ্ক্ষিত উত্তর হিসেবে নিতে পারছি না, কেননা Issue কে Plural করতে হতে হলে, এর সাথে S যোগ করতে হয়।
অপশন (c) হচ্ছে Fish. এই Fish এর Plural form হচ্ছে দুটি। (১) Fish নিজেই; (২) Fish এর সাথে es যোগ করে Fishes করতে হয়। Plural হেসেবে শুধু Fish এর অর্থ ‘এক প্রজাতির অনেক গুলো মাছ’। কিন্তু Plural হেসেবে Fishes এর অর্থ ’বিভিন্ন প্রজাতির অনেকগুলো মাছ’। অর্থ্যাৎ Fish নিজেই Sigular এবং Plural হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়। আবার Fish এর সাথে es যোগ করেও Plural করা যায়। সুতরাং আমাদের কাঙ্ক্ষিত উত্তর হচ্ছে Fish.
অপশন (d) হচ্ছে light. Light হচ্ছে এমন একটি Noun, যা Singular হিসেবে দুটি অর্থ দিয়ে থাকে। যেমন- (১) বাতি; (২) আলো। তবে light এর সাথে S যোগ করে যখন Plural করা হয়, তখন Lights কেবল একটি অর্থে ব্যবহৃত হয়।যেমন- বাতিগুলো। সুতরাং Light – Singular ও Plural উভয় হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হতে পারে না।
